Stop on Red

Stop arm camera

Stop or Pay the Price

  • State law requires all vehicles to stop for school buses when flashing lights are activated and stop arm is extended.

  • Drivers who violate the law face a $500.00 fine.

  • Drives can face criminal charges for passing a school bus on the right, passing when a child is outside of the bus, or injuring or killing a child.

Blue Earth Area School Buses have installed Stop Arm Cameras on their school buses. Thanks to the grant we received from the State of MN / Office of Transportation.

Transportation Opt-in

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, all Blue Earth Area School student's in grades K-12 will be required to opt-in (register) to receive transportation to and from school. This will help the transportation department create more efficient bus routes, ensuring students get to school in a safe and timely manner.

If you would like your student(s) to receive transportation in the fall, you must complete the following form. A form will need to be filled out for each child.

To verify that a child is eligible for transportation:

*High Schoolers living within 1 mile of the Elementary school should walk to the school to connect with a bus to the High School.

*Parents of Kindergarten students must be present at the bus stop location to receive their students from the bus, unless the student is being transported to a daycare.

Please complete this form and return it by Monday, June 10th, 2024.

Thank you,
