Summer EBT Program
The Summer EBT program, called SUN Bucks, provides $40/month for families with school-aged children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.
The $40 per child – during June, July, and August – can be used to purchase healthy foods.
Eligible families will get SUN Bucks on a S-EBT card mailed to their home for each child.
(NOTE: Educational Benefits were previously called “Free and Reduced-price Lunch” form.)
IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED an Educational Benefits Application AND/OR IF YOU ARE NOT ENROLLED IN Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program (SNAP), Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), Foster care or Medicaid YOU MUST:
Complete the Educational Benefits Application through your school website, or
Apply online for SNAP at https://mnbenefits.mn.gov/, or
Contact a SNAP Outreach Specialist at: https:/communitysnapoutreachreferral.state.mn.us/, or
Call a Second Harvest Heartland specialist at 1-866-844-FOOD.
